Marathon Myanmar Co., Ltd is a tech-enabled logistics company providing last mile delivery, warehousing and payment collection services to SMEs nationwide. Marathon started with two founders and three employees with the vision to build a last mile and cash on delivery platform which connects delivery networks across Myanmar. Our team has grown to 100+ employees across 100 cities (pre-1st Feb 2021) empowering businesses and individuals to ship parcels and collect cash anywhere in Myanmar. Marathon is owned by Myanmar Shareholders, two of whom are co-founders, and Singapore-based Seed Myanmar Venture Limited.

The management team are supported by board advisors with international experience in Investment Banking, Logistics, and Business Management. Marathon has raised investment from three rounds of investment from Seed Myanmar Venture Limited, the fund under Singapore based Venture Capital Firm-Vulpes. In April 2020, during Covid-19 pandemic period, Marathon received logistic partner of the month award from Shop.com.mm (An Alibaba Company), the largest ecommerce platform in Myanmar. The company's five-year goal is to provide sustainable delivery, payment, and distribution services to every corner of Myanmar especially to most rural areas with restricted transportation access.

Okkar is a transportation engineer with strong analytical and practical knowledge of postal service, traffic management, highway design, and solving transportation problems. Okkar holds an educational background in the United States, and previously worked as a counterpart of the Ministry of Construction, Myanmar for the Arterial Road Network Development Master Plan implemented by KOICA. ​Okkar received his master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from the City University of New York (City College) and his bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Aung Ko Swe joined the family trading business after graduation. Before he had founded Marathon, he had seven years working experience in domestic and international trading, especially with Korea and Japan. He holds M.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Yangon, and B.Sc in Computer Science from Yadanabon University. He is currently overseeing the company’s operation and managing the agent network infrastructure of Marathon nationwide. He applies his knowledge in IT in bridging the gap between ground operations and technology.

Sett Wai Aung joined in the early days of Marathon as the business analyst. He holds B.A(English) degree from Dagon University and received diploma in Computer Science from Yangon University. He holds different roles in Business Analysis, System Implementation and Business Development, and mainly involve in building Marathon’s tech ecosystem. He engages with management team and users to understand how data-driven changes to operation procedures, services and software can improve efficiencies and add value. He is currently leading the technology team and identifying effective solutions for business software system issues.

Myo Myint Oo previously worked in a local trading ad distribution house and received BA(Myanmar) Degree from Myingyan Degree College. He is one of the early employees of Marathon and works in operation and agent relation departments. He grew Marathon’s agent network from 22 cities to 100 cities, becoming one of the largest courier networks in the country within 3 years. He is working as an operation and logistics lead and responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and line-haul processes.

Download Marathon Merchant App, sign-up, and start shipping.
Marathon delivers a package next business day within Yangon, Mandalay, and Naypyidaw and between two to four business days to others.
For the value-undeclared parcels, Marathon compensates ten times the delivery fee. For the value-declared parcels, Marathon compensates up to 100,000 MMK per package.
Return fee is half of the delivery fee for major cities and full delivery fee for other cities.
It takes three business days after delivery.
